Prepay Discount
Get a 2% discount on your contract price (after any other rebates or discounts). In return, you prepay the total contract amount upfront. Keep in mind this program is voluntary and available to cash customers. Simply opt-in by letting your project consultant know prior to signing your contract.
Voluntary Referral Program
Get $500 off your final contract price for all residential customers when you provide Sandbox+ with three qualified referrals after your project is complete. All referrals should:
- Be within our service area (most of the Front Range)
- Consent to your providing us their information
- Be aware our team will be contacting them
Beat the Summer Surge
Don’t set yourself up to pay peak rates in 2026. Produce your own power and lock in peak production to beat the summer heat. When you choose to install a new or addon PV system with a battery for your home, you can get an upfront discount of $1,200. This deal is stackable with our prepay and referral offering discounts.
Storm Ready Bundle
We all know the storm season in Colorado is here. But you can get a battery backup installed with a $250 discount before Xcel Energy’s PSPS blackouts are in full swing so you can keep your power running. Eco-Sustainability Bundle
Right now is the perfect time to go completely electric to ditch your utility company. When you invest in residential solar arrays and a heat pump, you can completely electrify your home to become self-sufficient. This bundle gives you a 2.5% discount on any new PV system and heat pump installation. Don’t forget, you can stack it with our prepay and referral discounts.
Solar Incentives
- Fort Collins Utilities: offers the Residential Solar Rebate Program for a rebate of up to $1,500 for the installation of solar panels.
- The City of Boulder: offers Solar Tax Rebates up to 15% of the city sales and use tax paid on materials for solar installations.
- Colorado Tax Exemptions:
- Solar Sales Tax Exemption: When you get a new solar array installed in Colorado, you don’t have to pay sales tax to get your system. This can take off a substantial amount of money from the initial cost of solar panels.
- Solar Property Tax Exemption: Typically when you make home improvements that increase the value, you would pay more in property taxes. But with a solar panel investment, you don’t need to pay additional taxes on the value the arrays add to your property.
Battery Incentives
- Fort Collins Utilities: offers the Residential Battery Storage Program for a rebate of up to $6,000 for the installation of a battery when paired with solar panels.
- The State of Colorado: offers the Residential Energy Storage Credit incentive for a tax credit of up to 10% of the purchase price of a battery. Homeowners are responsible for submitting the application for this tax credit.
- Xcel Energy: offers a Colorado PSPS Battery Rebate Program with a rebate of up to $10,000 for a battery for Colorado residential customers enrolled in the medical certification program and living in Tier 2 or Tier 3 wildfire risk zones.
- Xcel Energy: just relaunched the Renewable Battery Connect (RBC) incentive program. These funds will go quickly and might not be available to you depending on your sign up date.
Heat Pump Incentives
- Boulder County: offers EnergySmart Income-Qualified (IQ) Rebates for up to $4,000 for households at or below 100% of the Area Median Income.
- The State of Colorado: offers a Heat Pump Tax Credit in 2026 for all Energy Star certified air source systems that are installed after January 1st, 2026. This is a contractor tax credit where Sandbox+ passes off at least 33% of it to customers as a discount.
- Efficiency Works: offers a variety of rebates for heat pumps including:
- Tier 1: $1,500 per unit for an air source heat pump that is ducted or partially ducted
- Tier 2: $2,000 per unit for an air source heat pump that is ducted or partially ducted
$500 per ton for air source cold-climate heat pumps that are non-ducted
- Poudre Valley REA: offers a couple of different rebates depending on the system you have:
- Air Source Heat Pump equal or less than 1.5 tons can receive a $800 rebate
- Air Source Heat Pump greater than 1.5 tons can receive a $1,800 rebate
- Xcel Energy: offers Colorado homeowners Heat Pump Rebates for installing a new heat pump system in 2026 including:
- Air Source Heat Pump, ducted: $900/cooling ton at 95°F
- Air Source Heat Pump, non-ducted: $900/cooling ton at 95°F
- Air Source Heat Pump, mixed ducted or non-ducted: $900/cooling ton at 95°F
- Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump, ducted: $2,250/heating ton at 5°F
- Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump, non-ducted: $2,250/heating ton at 5°F
- Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump, mixed ducted and non-ducted: $2,250/heating ton at 5°F
- Gas Furnace: $225
- Xcel Energy: offers a Whole Home Efficiency Rebate if you make three qualified upgrades within two years of enrolling in the program. You can get up to a 25% bonus on your rebate for completing three of the recommendations after your home energy audit. To qualify:
- You must get a BPI Certified energy audit within the program
- You must use contractors approved in the Whole Home Efficiency Program
- Recommended upgrades include air sealing, insulation, and cold-climate heat pumps for heating and cooling.
