L'Avenir - Living Building Challenge
Sandbox Solar had the opportunity to work on the amazing L’avenir Living Building Challenge, a project providing solar-powered living in Fort Collins. This project was designed and constructed by Philgreen Construction and Davis Davis Architects, L’Avenir townhomes is a net-zero energy building complex that harnesses power from the sun and geothermal wells.
Atop the roof is L’Avenir’s powerhouse. This includes a premium 28 kW solar array with 345 to 360 watt solar panels and battery backup installed by local Fort Collins solar company, Sandbox Solar. Each home is powered by twenty solar panels and geothermal energy from 7,350 ft deep wells that provide enough power for net-zero energy living.
Sandbox Solar is incredibly proud to be apart of this project and to promote net-zero energy living in Fort Collins. For a deeper dive into this renewable energy project take a look at our L’avenir Living Building Case-Study.
